Small guidebook "Focus on Birds Routes"
This themed booklet takes you through the different environments in the North Holland Dune reserve that birds live in. The environment an animal lives in is called a habitat; an area that fulfills the desires and needs of a certain species.
Because every bird has its own preference, every species has a strong relationship with its habitat.
We quizzed our forest rangers about the most common, or the rarest or most special birds and examined them closely. The route descriptions alternate with explanations of what makes these habitats so interesting for life there, with amusing facts and bits of history. You can tick off what you see underway on an extensive checklist. No chance of being bored!
You can buy the booklet at De Hoep for 3.95 euro. All three routes start and finish at the campsite.
