Since the 19th of April 2014 Camping Bakkum boasts a revamped professional open-air theatre: ‘De Pan’. Performances in this surprising environment are open to both our guests and to people living nearby - at Camping Bakkum we like giving culture free reign.
The open-air theatre seats 500 and offers a range of different performances. Care is taken that evening performances do not interfere with the peace & quiet of our guests on site.
Scattered across the camping are 10 heated washrooms including baby changing rooms, disabled facilities, showers and toilets. In addition there are disposal facilities for chemical toilets. Keys for baby changing rooms and disabled facilities can be obtained at Reception.
For those who like to kick or hit a ball around once in a while there is a large playing field in the centre of the camping, on which a volleyball court, a football pitch and no fewer than two tennis courts can be found.
And needless to say, no playing field is complete without a large playground!
There is a shopping square on site, perfect for meeting up for a leisurely drink on the terrace, or to enjoy a nice ice cream; it is the holidays after all! The following shops can be found on the square:

Eeki dances at dawn! Every morning this sweet and lively squirrel can be found in the Sport & Spel Barn to dance with the children. Following the dancing we get creative during creativity time: Creativitijd. In the afternoon, several sports and games are organised which relate to the theme of that week. After 'Avonturen in de Avonduren' the day is concluded with pleasant playtime.
Camping shop Zeldenrust offers: Gas cylinders and canisters (all popular makes & kinds), accessories (hoses, attachments, pressure gauges & regulators). Camping gear; flash lights, tent pegs, storm straps, BBQs, air beds. Beach equipment; beach shelters, cooling boxes, batteries etc.
Electrical equipment; leads, connectors, bulbs, sockets etc. The camping shop is also the right place for: Testing your gas and electrical equipment, renting of 'bolderkar' carts, go-karts, police go-karts, go-karts for small children and bicycles. We have ladies' and gentlemen's bicycles for hire as well as delivery bicycles, tandems, and cycles for children.
Camping shop "Zeldenrust" can fix punctures, put your chain back on and solve other problems with your bike.
Hot rolls or yummy pizzas? 'Op De Hoek' has plenty for sale. Pizzas are baked in a real stone oven and the rolls are baked daily too!
The supermarket Spar is opened 7 days a week.

The restaurant boasts an menu card with grilled food, pasta dishes, salads and children's menus. In the daytime, the menu offers home made sandwiches and rolls, pancakes, toasted sandwiches and 'uitsmijters' -fried eggs & ham. As well as the restaurant, there is the snackbar with plenty choose. It is the only one in Castricum offering homefried chips and 100% vegetarian snacks!
At the campsite you find an ice cream shop. Mmmmmm!
Kippaleis at Winkelplein square is the address for the best, tender fried chicken. Kippaleis has been trading at Camping Bakkum since 1962. Present owner Lisa van Duin and her team open their doors during the summer months and sell various chicken dishes. An established business with a trusted reputation.
The shopping square is the ideal place for a pleasant get-together, relaxing on a terrace and enjoying some nice fresh fish. Vis & Meer offers herring, kibbeling (fish pieces in batter), lekkerbekje (larger battered fish), salmon or shrimp croquettes. Or maybe you fancy home made paella, fish soup or one of the many other dishes we don't have enough space to mention here?
There is a doctor on the campsite, where Dr vd Maarel give consultations during the season. You are advised to bring proof of health insurance.The doctor can be reached on:

The pop-up store is a temporary shop, an ideal opportunity for private persons, companies or Internet sellers to get a taste of 'playing shops', while contributing to the variety of the shopping experience. Traders or private persons can set up shop for a day, for a weekend or a whole midweek!
Camping Bakkum has its own children's farm: 't Boetje. Pet the rabbits, stroke the goats, feed the chickens and much more. If you would like to help mucking out you will be very welcome too!
There is no need to do your laundry by hand at camping Bakkum: washing machines and dryers are available at an additional charge. While these take care of the hard work, you can read the paper at Winkelplein square Coins for the washing machines are available at Reception, while the dryers operate on € 2 coins.Washing: € 4,50 till 6 kg and € 7,50 till 10 kg. Next to Reception is the Internet cottage, with four computers and Internet access. When staying on one of our tourist camping pitches or accommodation you are also within range of our WIFI network. The shopping square, the playing field and the area around Reception are also covered. A code to log in can be purchased at Reception.
Large underground waste containers are supplied on site. We separate paper, glass, chemical waste and batteries.
It's now possible to charge your electric car on Camping Bakkum. There are two charge places; on the parkingplaces P1 and P2. 4 cars can be charged simultaneously. You can use any ChargePass.
The campsite boasts 2 tennis courts. These can be used at no extra cost, but must be booked in advance. In order to obtain a key, a €10 deposit is required, which is returned when you hand in the key. The key is kept at Reception.
Since 2105, Camping Bakkum offers the possibility for guests to work out during there holiday. There is a professional indoor GYM on site.The deposit is only 10 euros and you can pick up the key at the reception. Are you younger then 18 years old? There is a possibility to work out as well. On several days during the week, there is a professional personal trainer at the GYM.
We plotted a fitness course across the campsite, especially to please our sporty guests. You'll get to see large parts of the campsite, and keep fit at the same time! Details of the course are available from Reception.
Why not take some time to browse in the little shop at Reception? There is a great selection of articles including cool bracelets, nice accessories for in the caravan, as well as children's toys. The shop at Reception often offers new stock, so come in and be surprised.
